This site is open for all to discuss, explore and study macrobiotics. We are
an open group that is happy to look at and challenge any aspects of
macrobiotics. All we ask is that members do this with respects and
consideration to each other and do not personalize any topics for
discussion.

In this group there are no philosophical right or wrongs, should(s) or should not(s) but a variety of opinions and a desire to share information, inspire each other
and walk together along a mutual path of discovery. At the same time would do have our ethics for how we can interact and what the boundaries are in terms of how we treat each other. Please see Code of Ethics below.

There are many people with a wealth of macrobiotic experience in this group
and it is a good resource for advice and help, however, it is not set up for
giving any kind of professional macrobiotic advice. We always suggest you
make an appointment to see a macrobiotic counselor and medical professional
for any medical advice.

Any opinions expressed through this site are solely representative of the
person expressing that opinion and do not necessarily reflect the views of
any other members, moderators or owner.

Modern-Day Macrobiotics Discussion Group Ethics

1 You may not post other people's private communication without written permission from the author of the text. For example if someone send you a private email you may not include any part of that email to you in any message to the group.

2 You may not reproduce copywritten material without written permission. This applies to books, web sites, journals etc. A quote of up to 250 words seems generally acceptable as a reference as long as source material is already public and acknowledged in your post. Please include author, publisher and links where relevant.

3 You may not make any comments in the group that could be considered to slander or libel anyone whether that person is inside or outside the group.

4 We ask that all members communicate in a way that is respectful, considerate, civil and polite. There is no reason to make gratuitous personal attacks towards people rather than discuss their ideas.

5 You are asked to seek permission in the group before emailing someone from the group in private. So if you feel you can offer personal advice or would prefer to resolve a dispute in private then ask the person within the group first. For example 'would you mind if I email you privately to discuss this further?' No response should be taken as a 'no'.

6 Avoidance of any form of sexual harassment.

7 No form of racism, discrimination, threatening language, or offensive sexism will be accepted.

8 Please respect that this is a macrobiotic discussion group and therefore do not bring in your own political, religious and business agenda into our discussions unless it is clearly relevant to the discussion.

9 Moderators will not use their position to abuse the rights of members to discuss and freely express legitimate views or to manipulate discussions in their favor.

10 Moderators will make an effort to treat all members equally and fairly without prejudice.

11 In the unlikely event that there is a problem in the group the moderators will discuss and agree a course of action that may include the following procedure:

A written warning and guidance / advice on how to communicate respecting the ethics.

A written warning after a second incidence stating that if there is a third similar incidence the member will be removed.

Removal from the group after a third occurrence.

We reserve the right to remove anyone immediately if that person is a threat to the group. This could include racist attacks, offensive religious remarks, slander or libel, threats, offensive language (swearing) or using the group for obvious spams.

The moderators will discuss and reach a joint decision before action is taken, however, if a number of moderators are out of contact we will reserve the right to block further emails from a member without removing them if the on-going conversation is causing distress, upsets or great offense to other members until the issue can looked at properly.
